alias claudex='CLAUDE_CODE_SUBAGENT_MODEL=gpt-5.6-sol ... claude --model gpt-5.6-sol'。

Sottiaux's community-favorite move: a step-by-step guide to run GPT-5.6 Sol inside Claude Code via CLIProxyAPI, with an alias called 'claudex' (3871 likes, 243 retweets, 315 replies). 'If this gets blocked, I owe you a reset.' He also listed Sol's improvements across speed/token efficiency, back-end dev, front-end dev, and notably 'does not use useEffect everywhere' — asking the community 'what is next?' (2557 likes, 805 replies).

Zara finally conceded: 'Ok 5.6 Sol is very good at front end' (110 likes) — a reversal from her earlier complaint that Codex's frontend was the single thing preventing more frequent use.

Sam Altman's most-engaged tweet across all feeds (49330 likes, 2330 retweets, 3404 replies): 'there are a lot of benchmarks that suggest 5.6 sol is the best model in the world right now, but the most reliable way to tell is that elon is obsessed with me again.' He also engaged with Fable cost data: '30% of the cost was on fable at these levels of usage?' (9734 likes).

Thibault Sottiaux: If you aren't yet bold enough to install the Codex app, you can stay in the presence of your orange crab and point it at GPT 5.6 Sol. Takes 5 minutes. alias claudex='CLAUDE_CODE_SUBAGENT_MODEL=gpt-5.6-sol ... claude --model gpt-5.6-sol'

Thibault Sottiaux: At different times you complained about speed, code slop, frontend quality... With each release we improve and GPT 5.6 Sol is: Fast and token efficient / Hardcore at back-end dev / Great at front-end / Does not use useEffect everywhere. What is next?

Zara: Ok 5.6 Sol is very good at front end

Sam Altman: there are a lot of benchmarks that suggest 5.6 sol is the best model in the world right now, but the most reliable way to tell is that elon is obsessed with me again

Garry Tan:

English

Levie on the Jevons paradox in software (193 likes): software job postings are outpacing other fields — the exact opposite of what AI-replacement predicted. When you lower the cost of production of something with many use cases, people want more of it. Software is now cheaper per unit, so companies light up more projects. But since the job isn't fully automated, you still need people to maintain, decide, update, and run systems. 'Agents will cause more abundance than replacement.'

Swyx added nuance (143 likes): Jevons paradox applies beyond software — coding agents breaking containment to all knowledge work is the herald. As efficiency goes up and unit cost goes down, demand for total work and better knowledge goes up, not down. 'What happened to coding isn't the exception; it's the herald.'

Garry Tan's optimism pair (1612 likes + 219 likes): 'So much could go wrong. But the interesting question is always: what happens if things go right?' Plus a policy push: CEQA reform needed to unblock California housing (219 likes).

Aaron Levie: The job that AI was supposed to replace is experiencing the opposite of the expected outcome. Software job postings are outpacing other fields... Agents will cause more abundance than replacement.

Swyx: if you only learned about jevons paradox primarily wrt software demand in the age of agentic engineering... what happened to coding isnt the exception; it's the herald.

Garry Tan: So much could go wrong. But the interesting question is always: what happens if things go right?

Garry Tan: If you want to supercharge building in California again, you're going to need to repeal and reform CEQA.

Podcast: Booking.com CEO — Travel Through the Lens of AI / 播客:Booking.com CEO——透过 AI 看旅游

No Priors × Glenn Fogel(Booking Holdings CEO)。

No Priors avatarNP

Glenn Fogel 在 Booking Holdings(原 Priceline)待了 27 年。

关于 Penny(Priceline 的 AI agent):每月翻倍增长。

Glenn Fogel

English

Glenn Fogel has been at Booking Holdings (originally Priceline) for 27 years. He joined right before the dot-com crash when market cap went from $30B to a few hundred million. Stock went from $1 (post-reverse-split $6) to nearly $6,000 — a 1000x return over 25 years. Market cap peaked near $180B.

On AI and travel: the 'no moat' thesis is foundational. 'There is no such thing as somewhere you're gonna be protected against innovation.' The only way to win long-term is continuous new service development. AI is a tool that makes the marketplace better for both travelers and partners — not a disruptor that replaces OTAs.

On Penny (Priceline's AI agent): adoption doubling every month. Fogel tested it with a complex family trip — multiple cabins, different return cities, frequent flyer mile optimization, hotel + train routing. 'It was wonderful.' The holy grail: predictive disruption — seeing problems before they happen and suggesting alternatives.

On OpenAI dropping checkout/ChatGPT travel: people overestimated how easy travel commerce is. When OpenAI said they weren't going to be a merchant of record, Booking stock jumped 8%. 'I wouldn't read too much into that one way or the other.'

On the AI bubble: sees parallels to 1999. 'There will be a great deal of disappointment. A lot of people will lose a lot of money.' But real value will be created. Compares to gold rush — lots of axe sellers, few winners.

On costs: Penny's actual numbers are still very small relative to $186B in annual travel. Token costs and ROI are the key questions — 'Tell me how much was the cost of us getting that trip for that person, and what is our ROI going to be?'

Glenn Fogel: There is no such thing as a moat. There is no such thing as somewhere you're gonna be protected against innovation.

Glenn Fogel: The only way to win long term is to continue to develop new services, new ways to do things.

Glenn Fogel: If you think you're just gonna come in and do this business and knock away these very big players, I'd say you should really understand what the business is before you decide to commit your capital.

Glenn Fogel: I can't wait until we are offering up these personalized agents that know everything about you, everything you want, and able to do so much more for you than any human travel agent could ever do.

Glenn Fogel: There will be a great deal of disappointment. There'll be a lot of people who are gonna lose a lot of money, of course. That's just the nature of how our economy is working.

Glenn Fogel: What is the cost of running it? How many tokens are we consuming? Tell me how much was the cost of us getting that trip for that person, and what is our ROI going to be?
