Sottiaux's rate limit update (1382 likes, top of the day): 'We've found (a) some inefficiencies when using images in long sessions with multiple compactions (b) high p95+ usage for Computer History (c) a feature that was meant to generate conversation titles that was draining a bit more usage than intended. And we have a tiger team combing through everything and shipping fixes.' Peter Yang's privacy cleanup (447 likes): 'If you care about your privacy: 1. Go to myaccount.google.com in Chrome 2. Run this prompt in Codex or Claude Code and tell it there's an open tab in your browser 3. Then pick the ones you want to remove and tell AI to do it. Just disconnected half the apps that should no longer have my Google info.'

Peter Yang's new skill (188 likes): 'I'm working on a new AI skill. It's called /fuck-cancer. Goal is to help patients and their family navigate this whole process and stay informed.' Plus Instinct shipping external data deletion (13 likes): 'you can now delete external data (like my 36 Gmail records)… Kudos to the Instinct team for listening and shipping this quickly.' Levie on evals as the rate limiter (138 likes): 'AI diffusion is far more rate limited by having good evals than most realize. The far bigger space over time are evals on all the major workflows that enterprises do.'

Thibault Sottiaux: Update on rate limits in Codex. We've found (a) some inefficiencies when using images in long sessions with multiple compactions (b) high p95+ usage for Computer History (c) a feature that was meant to generate conversation titles that was draining a bit more usage than intended.

Peter Yang: If you care about your privacy: 1. Go to myaccount.google.com in Chrome 2. Run this prompt in Codex or Claude Code and tell it there's an open tab in your browser 3. Then pick the ones you want to remove and tell AI to do it.

Peter Yang: I'm working on a new AI skill. It's called /fuck-cancer. Goal is to help patients and their family navigate this whole process and stay informed.

Peter Yang: Looks like you can now delete external data (like my 36 Gmail records) if you go to settings and scroll down to Data Privacy. Kudos to the Instinct team for listening and shipping this quickly.

Aaron Levie: AI diffusion is far more rate limited by having good evals than most realize. The far bigger space over time are evals on all the major workflows that enterprises do, down to each step.

Amjad:「

Zara:

Amjad's shipping cadence (643 likes): '"Pretty soon" turned out to be 3 months.' Plus 'A week has 7 days. That means 7 ships' (70 likes).

Zara's solo-vs-org observation (147 likes): 'There's a phenomenon where talented individuals can achieve 10x their potential thanks to AI when working on their own thing. But when the same individual is put into a large organization, they at most increase their potential by 20% (and sometimes it's even decreased). This is why I'm seeing more and more talented people leave large companies.' Plus her one-liner (336 likes): 'Everyone who's ahead in using AI thinks they're behind.' Dan Shipper's Every hiring (131 likes) and 'agent native ftw' (149 likes).

Guillermo Rauch: AI can do many wonderful things and grant many wishes, but we have only one earth, one California, one Patagonia, one Mendoza. USA and Argentina are two of the freest countries that also happen to have the most glorious land and geography. I'm very long 🇺🇸🇦🇷.

Amjad Masad: 'Pretty soon' turned out to be 3 months.

Amjad Masad: A week has 7 days. That means 7 ships.

Zara Zhang: Everyone who's ahead in using AI thinks they're behind.

Dan Shipper: we're hiring @every!

Madhu Guru:evals

Madhu Guru's evals Part 6 (143 likes): 'Hill climbing on evals is just a fancy way of saying: pick a dimension that matters and optimize for it.

【Gambit

A re-run in today's feed: No Priors' conversation with Chess.com CEO Erik Allebest (originally covered in our 2026-08-15 issue) — bought the domain out of a bankruptcy auction in 2005 for $55K when VCs called it 'uninvestable'; today 250M+ members, ~10M daily actives, $200M+ revenue, 650 people, zero outside capital. Key topics: the COVID/Queen's Gambit wave and the 2023 short-form-content wave (mittens bot, cheating scandal) compounding growth; Lichess as 'the Linux of chess'; chess not being patentable — winning via product, community, content; computers first making chess boring, then making it more exciting than ever; AI coaches on game review and personalized puzzles; younger and younger prodigies; repetition as the unshortcutable path to expertise; cheating as an arms race of statistical models; chess as the Beatles in a world of infinite AI-generated content; Gambit poker with chess-style ratings; 'listen to your heart, not the founder-advice industrial complex.'

Erik Allebest: We have about 10,000,000 daily active users, more than 250,000,000 registered members. This year we'll do a little over $200,000,000.

Erik Allebest: Computers at first made chess a little bit more boring, but then made it so much more exciting.

Erik Allebest: There's no loot boxes. There's no new skins. There's no new heroes to learn. You're having the same shared experience forever.

Erik Allebest: People should listen to their heart. Just go execute and put something beautiful into the world.
