Levie's triple: Meta at the frontier (487): 'What a crazy time in AI with Meta now jumping fully into the frontier. Now that there are multiple players pushing the state of the art, this is going to lead to a further acceleration of advances, as well as the lowering cost of tokens for even the highest levels of capability.'; the self-determined harness (289): 'Ok this is quite cool research and ultimately must be the eventual architecture of agents. In the limit, AI will obviously be better at determining its own harness once it sees the task at hand, than us being able to do this in advance'; and the swarm thesis (159): 'Agent swarms are going to be a core part of many enterprise workflows in the future… Cyber will be one of the biggest beneficiaries of this as it's a space where testing vast number of permutations of attacks (without getting tired or bored) is an incredibly useful property… This will become one of the biggest token uses in large enterprises.' Aditya's delta observation (42): 'There is a big delta in how frontier lab employees use AI and how even the top 1% of AI orgs use AI. This is on public capabilities… I suspect this delta will exist for a while… I also feel like there is a company opportunity in here that is a horizontal accelerant.'

Zara Zhang's cockroach-game story (64): 'I just heard the most touching AI coding story. A friend grew up in a modest home full of cockroaches. To turn lemons into lemonade, her mom made killing them a game. When she told this story to another friend, that friend vibe coded a game from it. You catch cockroaches in a room and compete against Mom. She cried while playing it. The game isn't technically sophisticated. Any model can build it pretty quickly now. What gives it a soul is the human story, experience, and emotion behind it. Code is the new medium for storytelling.' Woodward's Lenny interview note (342): 'What you see is what you get with him: he's kind, prepared, and deeply curious… he took our conversation to places that I've never talked about in public.' Swyx's NYC love (97): 'one of the best parts of my job is bringing out the best in ai in each city. i love new york ♥️' — plus the AIE NYC workshop writeup notes (4/3). Garry Tan's trio: the self-reliance note (176): 'Nobody is coming to save you. You don't need saving'; the pro-rata note (167); and 'We need repairmen' (82). Nan Yu's 'One. Of. Us.' (55), Nikunj's Surya appreciation (33), and Peter Yang's StarCraft pair (61/3): 'So many people's childhoods were defined by StarCraft… Still can't believe the new game won't come out till 2030. @Blizzard_Ent should double down on this franchise.'

Josh Woodward: What you see is what you get with him: he's kind, prepared, and deeply curious. Great interviewers do their homework, and you can tell he's in that league: he took our conversation to places that I've never talked about in public.

Swyx: one of the best parts of my job is bringing out the best in ai in each city. i love new york ♥️

Garry Tan: Nobody is coming to save you. You don't need saving

【Dots:

Dottie(之前叫过 Alfred)。

【Space 与 live documents】

【Decisions API 与 Jev】

它源于 Jev 吗?Altman:Diogo(前 OpenAI)很早就讲这类想法,我们一直在琢磨怎么做成。

【Codex

【Ultrafast

The Every Podcast's first episode after rebranding from AI & I (new to this digest): Dan Shipper interviews Sam Altman live at DevDay. Core threads: 'people just want so much more stuff' — developers have never been able to do more, and the bar has never been higher; humans stay at the center ('we don't care that much about what the machines do… we're obsessed with other people' — the Navier-Stokes solve got attention for its interpretation and people, not the math); 22 launches this year vs 9 last year ('just wait for next year'); the two schools of AI companies — those who hope there'll be only one company in the world, and those like OpenAI who believe in 'a renaissance in the number of companies' (one-person companies, small teams); Renaissance vs Industrial Revolution — the renaissance centered on people, the industrial revolution turned many into cogs, and 'house cats' doom-talk is 'certainly not what we think'; Dots giving him back his mornings ('the first thing that has given me back control of my mornings and my mental space') — a dot that flagged a broken live demo 5 minutes before the keynote, an overnight Slack screenshot hunt ('I kept thinking about it overnight and I found it for you'), voice-note-to-built-feature loops ('wake up in the morning, not only is the thing built, but it went off and did the next seven steps'), and 'the crazy attention hacking of social media and phones had gotten way worse than I realized'; Space's live documents ('seven people's dots working together create something new… an emergent thing') and his personal living dashboard of the business; the Decisions API and Jev's inspiration ('the number one request of Luna was I want it to be even cheaper and even faster'); portable subscriptions ('it's your subscription — you should get to use it wherever you want'); why 'OpenAI killed X startup' never happens ('way more good ideas outside of our building than inside… maybe we brought it down from the mountain, but we want to give it to everybody'); startup lore re-examined (make something people want stays; how much work one or two people can do 'feels totally different'); a CEO who ships ('maybe I'll ship a real OpenAI product. Who knows?… I will do that. I'm inspired now'); all prompting on Ultrafast and the Brett Victor immediate-connection principle; and the democratization of speed ('8X at a great price in the not distant future, then 100X faster… put Moore's law to shame').

Sam Altman: I think people just want so much more stuff. People's expectations are so high… developers, they've never been able to do more, but there's never been a higher bar either.

Sam Altman: We don't care that much about what the machines do. And in some sense we never have. And we're just like, we're obsessed with other people.

Sam Altman: There are people that believe or hope that there's only going to be one company in the world. And then there are people like us that believe we are going to see a renaissance in the number of companies.

Sam Altman: The Dots, the new thing we launched today, is the first thing that has given me back control of my mornings and my mental space in the mornings.

Sam Altman: It's pretty cool to go to sleep and just leave a long voice note as you're kind of drifting off with a bunch of thoughts and wake up in the morning, not only is the thing built, but it went off and did the next seven steps.

Sam Altman: I noticed you were trying to do this thing and you didn't find it. But I kept thinking about it overnight and I found it for you.

Sam Altman: Seven people's dots can, working together, create something new that kind of existed in all of our heads to some degree, but was like an emergent thing.

Sam Altman: The number one request with Luna, even though people love that model, was I want it to be even cheaper and even faster.

Sam Altman: There will always be a real frontier in terms of intelligence or speed or whatever else at a higher price. But I think you can also bet that we will keep doing what we've done of just a ridiculous, like put Moore's law to shame, relentless focus on driving value per dollar up and up and up.
